Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Fill & Sign for iPhone and iPad (the "App") handles your information. The App is developed by Arron ("we", "us"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
In short: your documents stay on your device. The only time a document leaves your device is when you choose to convert a PDF to Word; that file is sent over an encrypted connection to our conversion server and deleted immediately after the conversion is finished. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Documents and content you create
- PDF files, images and scans you import, scan, create or edit in the App.
- Signatures, annotations, text and form entries you add to documents.
This content is stored locally on your device (including the shared storage used by the App's share extensions). We do not upload it to our servers, except for the PDF to Word conversion described in Section 3.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, language, region and app version.
- Usage data: which features are used, screens viewed and in-app events (for example, opening the subscription page or completing a conversion).
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data.
- Identifiers: app instance identifiers used by our analytics provider and, only if you allow tracking, the device advertising identifier (IDFA).
1.3 Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details. We only receive information from Apple about whether you have an active subscription, so that we can unlock premium features.
1.4 Information you send us
If you contact us by email (for example, through Help & Feedback), we receive your email address and the content of your message, and use them only to respond to you.
2. Device Permissions
The App asks for the following permissions only when you use the related feature. You can change them at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- Camera: to scan paper documents into PDF.
- Photos: to import images and to save converted images to your photo library.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): to show more relevant ads. The App works the same whether you allow or deny it.
- Network access: to load subscription plans, app configuration, ads and the PDF to Word conversion.
3. PDF to Word Conversion
When you choose to convert a PDF to a Word document, the selected PDF is uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our conversion server (hosted on Google Cloud). The file is used only to perform the conversion, and both the uploaded file and the converted result are deleted from the server immediately after the conversion is completed. We do not view, share or use the content of these files for any other purpose. All other features (editing, signing, annotating, merging, compressing, scanning and image to PDF) are processed entirely on your device.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide the App's features, including document conversion and premium subscriptions.
- To understand how the App is used and improve it.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues.
- To show ads to users of the free version, and to measure ad performance.
- To adjust app settings remotely (for example, which features or offers are shown).
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services. They process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config): usage statistics, crash reports and remote configuration. Firebase Privacy
- Google AdMob and its User Messaging Platform: displaying ads and collecting ad consent where required by law. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. How Google uses information in ads
- Google Cloud: hosting the PDF to Word conversion server described in Section 3.
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit): processing subscriptions and purchases. Apple Privacy Policy
6. Advertising and Your Choices
- Tracking: the App asks for permission before accessing your advertising identifier. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings > Privacy Settings.
- Premium subscribers do not see ads.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With the service providers listed in Section 5, to operate the App.
- When required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
8. Data Retention and Security
- Documents stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Files uploaded for PDF to Word conversion are deleted immediately after the conversion.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to its retention settings.
- All network communication with our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.
- EEA / UK (GDPR): we process data on the basis of your consent (for personalized ads), our legitimate interests (analytics, crash reporting and security) and the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and subscriptions). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- California (CCPA / CPRA): you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out by denying tracking permission in iOS Settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below. You can also remove all locally stored data by deleting the App.
11. International Transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for such transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last Updated" date above. For significant changes, we will also notify you in the App.
